Mayo GAA Board appoints commercial manager
THE Mayo County GAA Board has tonight ratified the appointment of Tom O'Reilly as its first commercial manager.
The former Mayo and Castlebar Mitchels forward has been employed in the banking sector for over 30 years.
He has been successful in a very competitive recruitment process for the key role.
The appointment is subject to final agreement on terms and conditions.
The appointment has been mooted by the board for some time due to the growing demands for investment in a wide range of activities, included the proposed new centre of excellence at a site adjacent to Lough Lannagh in Castlebar.
Mr. O'Reilly's role will involve the generation of new income streams to meet those demands.
He will also be responsible for the branding of Mayo GAA going forward.
The recruitment process was conducted by Arcon Recruitment Services in Castlebar.
