What Mayo fans need to know about Monday's GAA draw
THE final draw for the All-Ireland senior football championship qualifiers will be made at 8.30 a.m. tomorrow morning on RTE Radio One.
However, unlike the previous draws for the qualifiers, this one is extra special in that it will also decide which sides will be playing in the two Super 8s group.
For the final draw of the qualifiers the teams in bowl one will be Cavan, Cork, Galway and Meath, and in bowl two are be Clare, Laois, Mayo and Tyrone.
Any team from bowl one can be drawn against any team from bowl two with the exception of Meath who can't be drawn against Laois, as they have already met in the Leinster championship.
So Meath will be up against either Clare, Mayo or Tyrone.
Once this draw has taken place the teams taking part in the two-group Super 8s will be known.
The winners of these two games involving Cork and Cavan will be in the group with Dublin and Roscommon. The winners of the other matches involving Galway and Meath will be Super 8s group with Donegal and Kerry.
So, if Mayo are drawn against either Cork or Cavan next weekend and come out on top, they will be in the Super 8s group with Dublin and Roscommon.
If Mayo are drawn against either Meath or Galway and win, they will be in the Super 8s group with Donegal and Kerry.
