Belcarra's Claire is crowned national handball champion
CLAIRE Reynolds from Belcarra, Castlebar, has been crowned Irish One-Wall Under 17 ladies national handball champion at the national finals which were held in Breaffy House Hotel.
This budding young Mayo handball is going from success to success and looks destined to reach the top in Irish senior handball in years to come.
A two-time-winner of a Young Connaught Telegraph Sports Award, Claire, before competing in the national finals, clinched the Connaught Under-17 title when defeating Sligo's Laura Finn in the decider which held in Tourmakeady on June 30.
Last weekend Claire took part in the national finals in Breaffy where she beat opponents from Tipperary, Armagh and Kilkenny before been crowned the Irish campionship.
After the final she was presented with her award by Croke Park Handball official, John Kelly.
This latest major handball title for Claire comes on the back of other numberous titles this young Mayo star has won.
