'No swimming' notice lifted at west Mayo beach

THE temporary 'Do Not Swim' notice has been lifted at Old Head Beach in Louisburgh.

Mayo County Council has reported that water quality samples taken last Friday were 'excellent' and it is perfectly safe to swim there once again.

The notice had been issued on Saturday following a sample taken on July 8.
