Fencing vandalised at lake

VANDALS have damaged fencing at Lough Lannagh in Castlebar.

The damage to fencing at the footbridge occurred sometime over the weekend at the lake, which is a popular spot with locals and visitors.

Councillor Ger Deere, who is very active with the local Tidy Towns, said he was 'outraged' at this act of vandalism which was carried out over the weekend at fencing that forms part of footbridge at Lough Lannagh.

And he wants those responsible to be held to account.

He said: “I am appealing to anyone that has any information to come forward that might help identify those responsible for this outrageous act on the town's fantastic amenity."
