Emergency services called to assist injured holidaymaker

A HOLIDAYMAKER was transferred by ambulance from Keem Bay in Achill to Mayo University Hospital today after suffering an injury.

The area was closed to traffic for over an hour as the ambulance service and Coast Guard unit rushed to the scene.

The patient was stretchered off the beach where an ambulance was awaiting to take the casualty to the hospital in Castlebar for treatment.
