Extra cameras being deployed to combat dumping

DUMPING rubbish illegally? Don't forget to smile for the camera.

Mayo County Council has purchased extra cameras and they are being deployed around the county.

News of the extra cameras was confirmed to Councillor Martin McLoughlin at a meeting today when he asked if mobile cameras had been acquired to target indiscriminate dumping, as requested previously.

He was told they have, and they have been successful, with huge demand for them.

The cameras are being used by the council right around the county.
