How Mayo can deliver a cost effective 50-metre pool

AN elected member of Mayo County Council has suggested a plan to deliver a cost-effective 50-metre swimming pool for the county.

Westport Councillor Peter Flynn said he recently took the opportunity to view the recently refurbished Lido Pool in Belmullet.

He stated: “It would be great to have something similar installed at The Point in Westport. What an opportunity to deliver a cost effective 50 metre pool for the county.

"There is potentially 70% grant aid available to assist with a project like this.

“So I hope we can really kick start this project over the coming months," he added.
