Former Mayo soccer star leads Castlebar Captain's Prize

FORMER Mayo and Castlebar Celtic star Brian Ainsworth leads the Captain's (Gerry O'Malley) Prize at Castlebar Golf Club after the first round.

He carded a 65 to lead by one from Joey McDonnell.

The other leading contender ahead of next Saturday's final round are Declan Prendergast 68, Fintan Phelan 69, John F. McHugh 69, Paul Maye 69, Eamon Burne 69 and David Carney 69.
