Syrian community in Mayo supports tidy towns initiative
THE Syrain community in Mayo have joined forces with Castlebar Tidy Towns, South West Mayo Development Company, and Mayo County Council to continue the floral transformation of Market Square in Castlebar.
As part of their ‘Colour Me Castlebar’ campaign, Tidy Towns have worked to inject colour into the county town this year.
Plantings were completed on one side of Market Square earlier in the summer and this week attention turned to the other side of the plaza when members of the local Syrian community prepared the ground for future planting.
Tidy Towns extend a big thank-you or ‘shukran’ to the Syrian community, South West Mayo Development Company and Mayo County Council for their assistance.
