Speaking in relation to the announcement, Minister Ring said: “These grants will be a major boost to homes and businesses in Mayo. Not only will these upgrades help us deliver on our climate commitments, but they will result in cleaner, healthier, warmer homes and businesses and cheaper energy bills.

Upgrading our homes and businesses with improved insulation and energy efficiency measures will help reduce energy costs and reduce our impact on the environment. Innovation and pioneering partnerships between the public and private sectors, residential and non-residential sectors, commercial and not-for-profit organisations are to be encouraged and supported.

I commend Richard Bruton, the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment, for supporting these measures which will provide a great boost to homeowners and businesses in Mayo.”
