Remote workers meet-up for Mayo Ideas Week

ARE you one of the growing number of people across the country who are working remotely, either working from home, from a shared workspace or simply working from wherever you happen to be on a given day.

Grow Remote is a social enterprise run by volunteers with 60 chapters across Ireland and now in four other countries to help remote workers connect with each other and potential employers and to promote remote working as a way of breathing life back into our towns, villages and rural areas.

The Castlebar chapter is the fastest growing of the 60 chapters with over 130 members, consisting of local people who are working for companies across the globe. The group stay connected via the ChangeX platform and hold regular meet-ups to meet and share ideas.

With all the benefits associated with remote work, workers can feel isolated so connecting with other remote workers is really important.

As part of Mayo Ideas Week, the Castlebar Chapter are inviting anyone who is working remotely or interested in working remotely to come along to their next meet-up which will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, September 27, at Bridge St Bar in Castlebar, where three locally based remote workers will share their experiences.

Places are limited to they do ask people to let them know if they are coming by emailing hello@growremote.ie or calling Bernard Joyce, chapter leader, on (087) 2254698.
