Funding to progress island helipad

A GRANT of €22,500 has been approved to Mayo County Council to progress a new helipad on Inishturk.

The funding will enable the local authority to progress design and planning for the site that has been identified for the new helipad.

The grant has been welcomed by Minister Michael Ring who said the project will greatly benefit the island community and the safety of emergency services staff.
