Missing man found safe

AN elderly man who had been missing in north Mayo has been found and is well.

Mayo Civil Defence have reported that he has been found and is in a generally good condition.

The 87-year-old from Ballycastle had been missing from his home since yesterday morning when gardaí launched an appeal to trace him.

He has been transferred to Mayo University Hospital for treatment.
