Drones being used in wrong places and at wrong times
THE issue of drones being used 'at the wrong time of day and in the wrong places' is to be raised at a meeting of Mayo's Joint Policing Committee this Friday.
Concerns were flagged by Councillor Neil Cruise at a Claremorris-Swinford Municipal District meeting today (Wednesday) about the use of drones in housing estates.
It is becoming an increasing problem and has been highlighted to him a few times.
Flying drones around an estate at five in the morning wasn't on, he said, and he wondered if the county council has any policy on their use.
Senior executive officer Padraig Flanagan said there are no council guidelines but the Irish Aviation Authority did have, and more enforceable guidelines are being considered.
