Mayo goalkeeper seals League of Ireland return
MAYO goalkeeper Michael Schlingermann is returning to the League of Ireland after taking a one-year break to play Gaelic football with his native county.
The Kiltimagh ace has signed for Galway United ahead of the 2020 season, the club confirmed today.
He had played in the league for 10 years before opting to change codes after being invited to join the Mayo senior football squad.
His previous clubs included Sligo Rovers, Athlone Town, Monaghan United and Drogheda FC.
