Mayo community mourns passing of much-loved personality
THE death has occurred at University Hospital Galway, after a short illness, of Carmel Devane (née Thomas), The Lane, Newpark, Ennis, Co. Clare, and formerly of Errew, Castlebar.
Aged in her early 50s, she was a member of a much-loved and popular family and news of her passing has evoked an immense sense of loss and sorrow in the community.
She is deeply regretted by her husband Joe, daughter Róisín, sons Conor and Donal, her parents Johnny and Phil Thomas (Errew, Castlebar), brother Tom (Ballygar, Co Galway), sisters Yvonne and Fiona (Errew), uncles, aunts, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.
Carmel will lie in repose at her residence at The Lane, Newpark, Ennis, Co. Clare, this evening (Thursday) from 4 p.m., concluding with prayers at 8 o‘clock.
The funeral will arrive to St, Patrick’s Church, Ballyheane, on Friday at 12 noon when there will be an opportunity to sympathise with the bereaved family.
Requiem Mass takes place at 1 p.m. with funeral afterwards to the adjoining Ballyheane Cemetery.
