New Castlebar housing development gets green light

A NEW 33-unit housing development in Castlebar has got the go-ahead.

Mayo County Council granted planning permission to G. & A. McConway Ltd. for the construction of 33 houses consisting of 14 three-bedroom semi-detached units, eight two-bedroom terrace units and 11 three-bedroom terrace units, together with connection to all services, internal access road and all ancillary site development works, at a site adjacent to Glenfort, Pound Road, Castlebar.

There are 20 planning conditions attached to the permission, including one relating to the revision of the layout of six of the houses due to flooding concerns.

A number of local submissions had been lodged in respect of the plan.
