Death of founder member of Westport Tidy Towns

THE death has taken place Ann Wilkie (née Gabriel), Lankill, Westport, and late of Little Island, Cork.

The deceased was a founder member of Westport Tidy Towns over 30 years ago when it became a seperate entity from Westport Tourism.

Her contribution to the organisation over a long period was exceptional and she was involved in setting the foundations for the town's proud national successes in recent years.

Ann was also actively involved in drama productions in the town for some time.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Victor, daughters Susan and Gillian, grandchildren Sophie and Conor, sons-in--law Ian and Anthony, sister Mary (Canada), brother Eddie (Canada), relatives and friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.

The funeral arrives at Holy Trinity Church, Westport, at 1 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday) for Service at 2 p.m.

Burial takes place afterwards in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
