Risk of Mayo coastal flooding early next week

THE risk of coastal flooding is Mayo early next week has been highlighted.

According to the Flood Information Service Ireland Facebook page, extensive area of very high seas are showing off the west coast next Monday evening with wave heights between 8 and 10 metres.

"We are concerned that this may coincide with high full moon spring tides on Monday evening and Tuesday morning on the west coast.

"There is a risk of coastal flooding if this occurs."
