Passing of retired Mayo nurse is widely mourned
THE death has occurred suddenly, after a short illness, of Mary (Mary K.) McDonnell (née Moran), Kennedy Gardens, and late of Rush Street, Castlebar.
A member of a popular and widely respected local family, her passing is deeply mourned across the community.
She was a retired psychiatric nurse with the Mayo Mental Health Services and had been a much-loved member of the staff of St. Anne's Unit at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Castlebar.
Predeceased by her parents Paddy and Bridie and her sister Avriel, she is very deeply regretted by her heartbroken husband Tony, daughters Ailis and Sorcha, brothers John, Pat, Francis, Noel and Paul, sisters Patricia, Ann, Bernadette, Carolyn, Teresa and June, uncle Ted, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.
Her remains will be reposing at the Coady Funeral Home, Linenhall Street, Castlebar, on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. with removal to her residence at 8 p.m.
Removal takes place from her residence on Wednesday at 11.30 a.m. to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, for Requiem Mass at 1 p.m.
Burial takes place afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
