Noel Howley returns to Mayo GAA backroom team
NOEL Howley, who was on of James Horan's backroom team during his first stint as Mayo senior team manager between 2011 and 2014, is back on board again, The Connaught Telegraph can reveal.
During Horan's first four-year reign as Mayo manager Mr. Howley was heavenly involved with the senior panel regarding player welfare matters.
It is expected Howley will more or less have the same role with the county senior players this years.
After James Horan resigned as the Mayo senior manager in 2014 when Mayo lost to Kerry in that famous game in Limerick, Howley was not invited on board by the joint management of Pat Holmes and Noel Connelly when they took over the county senior team for the 2015 season.
Howley didn't feature either during Stephen Rochford's three-year stint as Mayo senior manager from 2016 to 2018.
However, James Horan has now turned again to Mr. Howley to get involved, mainly for player welfare issues.
