Passing of retired Mayo publican is widely mourned
THE death of Tommy Walsh, Key West, Derrycoosh, Castlebar, is widely mourned.
in his 92nd year, he was predeceased by his wife Christina and is deeply regretted by his sons Michael and Gary, daughter Deborah, daughters-in-law Trisha and Rosanne, sisters Tess and Phyllis, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.
A tribute paid him on the What's on in Islandeady Facebook page stated: "Tommy was known far and wide as proprietor of The Key West Bar for many years.
"And anybody who ever set foot in the bar would have fond memories of him, a big-hearted man.
"Good friends and neighbours are hard to find, lucky to have and impossible to forget. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam."
His remains will be reposing at St. Aidan's Room, Islandeady, Castlebar, on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. with removal at 8 p.m. to his residence.
Removal from his residence on Friday at 12.30 p.m. to St. Patrick's Church, Islandeady for Requiem Mass at 2 p.m. with burial afterwards in Islandeady Cemetery.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
