Gardaí make a number of drug seizures over the weekend
GARDAÍ in Mayo made a number of drug seizures across the county over the weekend.
Yesterday (Sunday) members of the Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit supported by members of Claremorris Community Engagement seized €280 worth of cocaine and €670 worth of cannabis herb (subject to analysis) in Ballindine.
The detection was as a result of a stop and search of a vehicle travelling through Ballindine. A man was arrested.
Over the weekend, Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit, assisted by the detective unit, community policing and armed support unit, carried out a number of searches throughout the county, with details published on the Garda Síochána Western Region Facebook page.
Gardaí seized smaller quantities of drugs, suspected to be cocaine, cannabis herb, ecstasy and amphetamine, with a number of premises in Westport, Ballyhaunis, Ballina and Castlebar searched.
Furthermore, seven people were found in possession of drugs for their own personal use in the county.
