Gardaì probe after 'all hell broke loose' in Mayo housing estate
A member of Mayo County Council has called for action in light of the 'disgusting' anti-social behaviour that took place in a housing estate in Foxford recently.
Speaking at a meeting of the Claremorris Swinford municipal district earlier today, Councillor Neil Cruise brought to attention an incident where, he said, in one particular house a gathering took place where 'all hell broke loose.'
He said that cars were driven around the estate with high speed 'with no regard for life or limb' and there was a certain amount of intoxication involved.
“I think the behaviour was despicable on the night.
"This caused distress within the estate. There was flagrant disregard for the residents,” he pointed out.
He also reported that criminal damage was caused to common areas in the estate, as well as to a car, and that this is 'simply not good enough'.
He said the gardaí in the area are taking relevant action.
He concluded by saying he will do everything in his power to ensure this behaviour does not happen again and he will bring it up at the county council meeting next Monday and the housing SPC meeting if necessary.
