Aid package of €3b. approved to deal with Covid-19

AN aid package of €3 billion to deal with coronavirus has been approved by the government. 

Most of the funding - €2.4 billion - has been allocated for sick pay, illness benefit and supplementary benefit changes.

A €200 million package has been earmarked for businesses to deal with the fallout from the virus.

Up to €435 million has been allocated to the Health Service Executive to deal with increased demand on services.
