Croí thanks Mayo GAA for heart health message

CROI, the heart and stroke charity, has thanked the Mayo senior football team for proudly wearing its message, helping to put the spotlight on heart health for over 55’s across the county.

A packed room at a pre-match event in An Sportlann, Castlebar, before the national league game against Kerry was filled with football chats and stories from Mayo greats.

Croi is so grateful to everyone who helped with this event and hopes it has inspired people to ‘Check it. Sort it’ and own their heart health.

A statement issued by Croi outlined: “A special thank you goes to Mayo GAA’s main sponsors Intersport Elverys for creating the special, one-off jersey for Croí.

“Huge thanks to Mayo GAA and the players for supporting our heart health message.

“Thanks to everyone who participated in the panel event, including MC Liam Horan, Croí’s medical director Dr. Jim Crowley and special guests TJ Kilgallon, Andy Moran and Martin Carney, and the team at An Sportlann Castlebar Mitchels for the great venue.

“Thanks also to the Mayo County Board and Mayo GAA’s PRO for their support.

“We also thank our Croí Third Age Mayo partners, HSE Community Healthcare West and Mayo County Council, and all the volunteers who helped with this event, including our Croí Friends in Mayo and local volunteers from Allergan.

"A special mention also to Croí Volunteer, Pat O’Donnell, who worked tirelessly to make this event a reality.
