Spotlight on Westport for the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions
While the world presses pause on its rhythm, Hot Press, in association with Grace O’Malley Blended Irish Whiskey, proud supporters of Irish music, have teamed up to bring the beat back with the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions.
From today (Tuesday, March 31) the series puts the spotlight on Westport, with musicians from the town opening the online musical feasts for live shows this week.
This evening, Rebecca McRedmond will start live proceedings from Westport at 7 p.m. ahead of a live show from London with Ruthanne from 7.30 p.m.
Tomorrow (Wednesday, April 1) it's the turn of Mayo native Matt Rowley, who will live stream from Westport at 7 p.m. before handing over to Tiz McNamara live from Toronto at 7.30 p.m.
Throughout the Lockdown Sessions series, musicians have been taking over the Hot Press Instagram account (@hotpressmagazine) with the support of Grace O’Malley Blended Irish Whiskey and live-streaming performances directly to viewers in the comfort of their own home.
The line-up to date has included acts like Róisín O (Thanks Brother), Carrie Baxter, Moncrieff, Saarloos, Mona Lxsa, Malaki and Junior Brother, to name a few.
