12 confirmed Covid-19 patients at Mayo University Hospital

TWELVE confirmed cases of Covid-19 are being treated on site at Mayo University Hospital.

That's according to HSE swab data which has been published on Twitter this afternoon by RTÈ health correspondent Fergal Bowers.

The figures, compiled at 2 p.m. yesterday, reveal there are a further 46 suspected cases awaiting results at the facility.

Two patients are being treated at the hospital's ICU.

The data also shows that there are 42 vacant beds in the hospital in Castlebar.
