Castlebar residents raise alarm after fire broke out nearby

CASTLEBAR Firefighting Unit has been at the scene of a blaze which broke out close to a housing estate in the town this evening.

Residents of Manor Village, off the Westport Road, raised the alarm after becoming concerned about the situation.

Members of the unit swiftly brought the fire in a nearby field under control after arriving at the scene.
