Mayo firm providing homes on wheels to those in need during Covid-19 crisis
Mayo-based firm, Ireland West Motorhomes, is providing homes on wheels to those in need during the Covid-19 crisis.
The pandemic has seen the country's business community respond in new and innovative ways to the situation.
Amongst those rising to the challenge is Castlebar-based Ireland West Motorhomes, run by Kevin Ryan and family for the last 10 years.
Recognising that the business can do something to help, they have decided to make their motorhomes available at cost price to health care workers, all front line staff, families with vulnerable members or who may be self-isolating for use as self-contained isolation units, suitable for the home or the workplace.
Said Kevin: "Like so many others, the lockdown has meant we’ve closed the doors on our business for now,
"But, seeing the campervans parked up here made us realise that they could play a really important role in giving peace of mind to those self-isolating, to health care workers and others with underlying conditions who may need some extra space to meet their health needs right now.
"It may even be a need for a temporary home office where space is tight.
"When restrictions are lifted we’ll welcome holidaymakers again but, for now, we’re really delighted to provide homes on wheels to those who need them.."
Full details of the vehicles and availability can be found at www.iwmotorhomes.ie or by contacting Kevin directly on 087 6385757 or iwmotorhomes@gmail.com.
All motorhomes will be fully sanitised between lettings to meet health standards and are available for collection or delivery.
