Suspected drink driver speeds through Mayo garda checkpoint

A suspected drink driver has been arrested after speeding through a garda checkpoint in Mayo.

The incident was witnessed by garda officers in Ballina.

The driver then fled the car on foot and was arrested after a short pursuit for suspected drink driving.

The car was seized and a quantity of cocaine was discovered in the vehicle.
