Passing of former Mayo County Council staff member
THE death has occurred of Paddy McCarney, Snugboro, Castlebar, and formerly of Clones, Co. Monaghan.
The deceased was a former member of the clerical staff of Mayo County Council, where he was held in very high regard by his colleagues during his time with the authority.
He is deeply regretted by his loyal and loving wife Marian, sons Eoin and Niall, daughter Miriam, brothers Peter, Tom and Eamon (all in Dublin), Michael (Donegal), sister Anne Rahman (Dublin), aunt Maureen Devlin (Dublin), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, Miriam's fiance Jack, Niall's partner Lynne, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.
Paddy's Funeral Mass will take place tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1 o'clock in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, with burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
The McCarney family has extended their gratitude to the nurses, doctors, receptionists, cleaners, security and all healthcare staff of Mayo University Hospital whose kindness and support shown to Paddy and the family lifted their spirits during these difficult times.
Castlebar Mitchels GAA Club has extended its sympathy to the McCarney family on their loss.
A son of the deceased, Niall, is a member of the club's senior squad.
