Mayo hospital treating 35 confirmed Covid-19 cases today

A TOTAL of 35 confirmed cases of Covid-19 are being treated today at Mayo University Hospital.

The figure was recorded yesterday at 8 p.m. by the HSE.

It is an increase of one over the space of 24 hours and is the eighth highest figure for an Irish hospital.

A further 15 suspected cases are receiving medical treatment at the facility.

There are 35 vacant general beds and six vacant critical beds at the Castlebar centre.

Two patient with confirmed Covid-19 are in critical care while no suspected case is in critical care.
