Passing of much-loved Mayo woman is deeply mourned

The death has occurred of Maureen Cusack (née McHale), Mountdaisy, Castlebar, and formerly of Knockaraha, Clogher, Claremorris.

Predeceased by her parents Michael and Celine and brother Tony, she is deeply regretted by her husband Tommie, sons David and Stephen (Castlebar) and Noel (Bray), daughter Lorraine (Barcelona), brothers Michael, Patrick, John and Paul, sisters Anne, Marcella and Martha, aunts Marcella and Phylis, grandchildren Lewis, Aimee, Harry, James, Nieves-cara and Adam, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, son- in-law, daughters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.

Maureen was a former member of the staff of the laboratory at Mayo University Hospital and was held in very high regard by her colleagues.

In a tribute to the deceased, Breaffy GAA Club stated: “Maureen was a wonderful supporter of the club over the years and was a regular presence at games, supporting her sons who all played for the club, as did her husband Tommy.

"Her passing has evoked great sadness in the Mountdaisy/Breaffy communities and surrounding areas

"We offer our heartfelt condolences to the Cusack and McHale families.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.”

Maureen's Funeral Mass will take place tomorrow (Monday) at 1 p.m. in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, with burial afterwards in Ballyheane Cemetery.

Due to the HSE and Government guidelines, the funeral at all stages will be private for family only.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.
