Aurivo celebrates dairy heroes for World Milk Day
AS part of World Milk Day yesterday (Monday), Aurivo co-operative shone a spotlight on its dairy heroes. These are the people who continue to work behind the scenes every day since the pandemic began in March to keep milk moving from farm to fridge.
Using the hashtag #DairyHeroes, Aurivo encouraged people to tweet a picture to recognise the person who has kept them supplied with Irish dairy products over the last few weeks.
Aurivo invited three people from across its supply chain to feature on social media as #DairyHeroes to mark World Milk Day.
In distribution, recognised was Paul Gibbons, a distributor of Aurivo’s Connacht Gold brands across Mayo, and a key link in the supply chain as the face of the brand for Aurivo’s many retail partners.
Said Paul said: “I’m keeping the shop fridges stocked with fresh Connacht Gold butter, cream and milk so customers can continue to enjoy them every day. I’d like to personally thank customers for their encouragement and support every day.”
General manager of Aurivo Dairy, Stephen Blewitt said: “Within Aurivo, we’ve been able to maintain business continuity through the dedication of our milk suppliers, our employees, distributors, hauliers and retail partners. We also can’t forget our loyal customers who have shown unwavering support and continued to support local jobs and farms.
“We’re delighted that people engaged with the hashtag #DairyHeroes and showed their appreciation.”
Also featured, on farm, was John Graham, a dairy farmer in Drumfin, Co. Sligo, who as an Aurivo supplier has been readying himself for peak production season, and, in milk processing, Stephen Pearson, who works in production in Aurivo’s milk plant at the Crossroads, Killygordon, Co. Donegal.
