Tributes paid to auctioneer who died in farm accident
WARM tributes have been paid to auctioneer Pat Dermody, from Kilconly, who tragically died following a farm accident on Sunday.
Pat was a well known figure in the farming community across Galway and Mayo, having taken charge of the hammer at sales at both Ballinrobe and Balla marts over the years. He was also an auctioneer at Tuam mart, where a minute's silence was observed yesterday.
A gentleman to the core, Pat was a well liked and respected personality and always the best of company.
An investigation into the accident is being conducted by the gardaí and Health and Safety Authority.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been published.
Sympathy is extended to his family and friends.
