Progress on new Westport Coast Guard station
STEADY progress is being made on the new Westport Coast Guard station.
The prequalification process for main contractor was due to be advertised on eTenders yesterday (Wednesday).
Welcoming the progress, Deputy Michael Ring said: “I am very pleased to see this project being moved in the right direction.”
The project will see the construction of a new Coast Guard station to facilitate the Irish Coast Guard rescue services for local emergency services.
“The Irish Coast Guard carry out tremendous work,” he said.
“The issue of the new Coast Guard Station is something that I consistently raised over the past few years and I am glad that it is moving forward.”
