Passing of much-loved Ballina man
The death has taken place of James (Jimmy) Duffy, St. Patrick's Well, Killala Road, Ballina.
His passing has evoked a great sense of loss in the Killala Road area and indeed the wider Ballina community.
Formerly of New Street, Ballaghaderreen, James moved to Ballina several decades ago through his work with the ESB.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bridie and Patrick, and his brother, John.
James was a quiet man who had a great devotion to the church. He is sadly missed by his wife Kathleen, children Pauline, James, Anne-Marie, John, Patrick, Bernadette, Michael, Thomas, Joseph, Peter, Marie-Therese, Mark and Eoin, grandchildren, siblings Mary, Joe and Padraig, extended family, neighbours and friends.
The funeral cortege will leave his residence tomorrow (Wednesday) at 12 noon to arrive to St. Patrick’s Church, Ballina, for Requiem Mass at 12.30 p.m., followed by burial in Leigue Cemetery.
Due to the current government and HSE guidelines, the funeral Mass is private to family and close friends only.
