Michael Davitt Museum is open again
Michael Davitt Museum management have announced that the museum is now open to the public again.
The museum has been awarded the Covid-19 Safety Charter from Fáilte Ireland and all staff have completed hygiene and safety control training. Strict hand washing and social distancing guidelines are adhered to at all times.
The opening hours are 10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday and admission is €5 for adults and €3 for children.
Visitors have an opportunity to view both the exhibits and an audio visual presentation which examines Davitt’s life and legacy. An outdoor tour is also available.
The guides relate the Davitt story from a series of strategic points on a large, well maintained site. A visit to the Davitt Memorial and the Davitt grave form part of this experience, while a tour of Straide Abbey is included as part of the outdoor package.
