Mayo Women's League round-up

CASTLEBAR Town continue to be the pacesetters in the Mayo Women's League after they enjoyed an impressive win away to Kiltimagh Knock United in CMS Park on Saturday evening.

Despite a slow start from the visitors, they ran into a four goals to nil lead at the break with a brace from Danielle Caldwell and strikes from Amy Dowling and Anna Tuohy.

Lauren McLellan pulled one back with a spectacular free kick from 30 yards but Castlebar responded quickly and Caldwell completed her hat trick. Olivia Flatley grabbed a consolation for the hosts awith another fine long range effort.

On Monday night, Manulla had their first home game of the season and secured a comprehensive win over Conn Rangers with Aoife Brennan (five), Sadhbh Larkin (four), Aisling Flannery (two) and Sarah Baynes (one) all getting on scoresheet for Manulla, with Conn's goals coming from Abbie Traynor, Cliodhna Flynn and Alva Munnelly.

It was an impressive performance from Manulla, and their game against Castlebar Town this Saturday evening promises to be match up of the highest quality.

UNDER-19 LEAGUE

The meeting of Castebar and Kiltimagh Knock was the big game of the week for the women's under-19 league, and they played out an early contender for game of the season. The sides were locked at one apiece at the break when Megan Pattison gave Castlebar the lead within seconds of the restart.

Olivia Flatley drew Kiltimagh Knock level with a stunning free-kick but a quickfire double from Ava Keane put Castlebar in front with twenty minutes left. Lauren McLellan's second of the evening for Kiltimagh Knock ensured a tense finish but Castlebar held firm for a huge win.

Elsewhere, a brace each from Alva Munnelly and Cloindha Flynn secured a big win for Conn Rangers against Westport United while Swinford claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Snugboro.
