Mayo man secures prestigious national award

Padraic Rocliffe has been named a JCI TOYP (ten outstanding young persons) national winner for 2020 for personal improvement and accomplishment.

The Westport man's life has revolved mostly around three broad themes: physical activity giving back to those who need it most and mental health.

Padraic is an internationally accomplished swimmer and now coach, and has had an affinity for swimming from a very young age.

He is also the founder of Shine A Light, a charity which aids the homeless.

He has given many talks around mental health and how lifestyle, in particular physical activity, can improve mental health.

Through these diverse yet comfortably intersecting themes, Padraic’s work serves to help and inspire others in his community.
