Call to open sluice gates in Mayo lakes

A Mayo elected representative wants to see the sluice gates opened to reduce water levels in local lakes.

Councillor Patsy O'Brien has asked that the local authority to write to the OPW about the water levels and use this opportunity to bring them to summer levels.

Councillor Damien Ryan agreed it is critical the levels in the lakes be dealt with without delay.
