Mayo road crews dealing with flooding and fallen trees

Mayo County Council road crews have this afternoon been dealing with a number of fallen trees and locations where flooding has occurred due to the storm.

Despite heavy flooding on the N59 ar Carrabawn, Westport, it remains passable, but motorists are advised to exercise caution.

Flooding issues have also been reported at the Asahi entrance in Killala, on the Clooneema to Cloontia roadway near Charlestown, and along the Kilmaine to The Neale route.

Crews are attending to an oil spill near Crossmolina Cemetery while a tree is down at Belleek, Ballina.

The winds have left a number of seal pups stranded along the Erris coastline,.
