A Capella Christmas concert to benefit children’s cancer charity
HAND in Hand, the Galway-based national children's cancer charity, has been chosen as the beneficiary of The Knights Before Christmas Virtual Concert 2020, with the A Capella Knights.
This year’s concert will take place on December 12, and all proceeds will go towards providing practical and emotional support to the families of children diagnosed with cancer throughout Ireland, including Mayo.
This seasonal highlight will be live-streamed from the beautiful Galway Cathedral, delivering the magic of Christmas directly to our homes. The A Capella Knights will be joined by Skehana Folk Group, Frenchville Brass Ensemble, Galway Sings, Renmore Pantomime, the Hession School of Irish Dance and Galway Simon Music Project for this Christmas performance that promises to bring festive cheer at the end of what has been a challenging year.
Chairperson of the charity's board, Paula Carroll, said: “We are delighted that, over the next three years, Hand in Hand will be the annual beneficiary of funds raised at The A Cappella Knights Christmas concert. The proceeds from this wonderful event will allow the charity to continue providing practical and emotional support to families throughout the country.”
The charity aims to alleviate, as much as is possible, the stress and anxiety that is comes with a diagnosis of childhood cancer. Covid-19 has had a major impact on the charity’s ability to fundraise and they are incredibly appreciative to be the chosen charity for this concert.
Tickets for the concert, including a raffle ticket, are €15 and are available from https://handinhand.ie/concert/.
