Mayo GAA club adding to its facilities
CHARLESTOWN GAA Club is set to add to its facilities, with a new pitch and also plans for a memorial feature.
The club has sought planning permission from Mayo County Council for a new all-weather sports GAA pitch with pitch lighting, fencing, ball catching netting and drainage works, as well as additional car parking for 41 cars.
The plan includes revisions to the internal road layout and footpaths, a new pedestrian walking track (983m long) and associated lighting, with link up to a future walking track and the Charlestown road, new multi use games area, and the erection of a memorial feature.
An extension to the existing changing rooms to include a gym (103.2sqm) also forms part of the proposal, as well as a new office building (30.5sqm), storage shed, and spectator viewing terrace, with the demolition of an existing storage building.
