National distinction for Mayo soccer club
ONE of Mayo's top soccer clubs has received a distinction from the Football Association of Ireland (FAI).
In recognition of best practice in the governance, management and administration of a football club, Castlebar Celtic have been awarded the FAI Club Mark.
The aims of the FAI Club Mark are to establish minimum operating criteria for football clubs, provide clubs with a road map to good governance, management and administration, support clubs on their journey, reward clubs for achieving and maintaining high standards, provide recognition to clubs for their commitment and achievements, and increase club’s capacity to operate effectively and grow football in communities throughout Ireland.
The club has thanked all their coaches, volunteers, players, parents, supporters, sponsors and committee members who have helped us reach this standard
“It is a great achievement considering the strange footballing year it has been,” said a statement on the club's social media pages.
