Mayo teenager's Dip a Day for cancer society
A LOCAL teenager is taking on a Dip a Day for December in the icy waters of north Mayo.
Chloe McDonnell is undertaking her challenge in freezing conditions in the tidal pool in Belmullet, and it's all to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society.
You can follow her challenge – there's daily updates as the month progresses – and donate via Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/donate/853489908856569/
Explained Chloe (16): “For the month of December, I will be doing a dip into Belmullet tidal pool in just my swimsuit or bikini everyday to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society.
“I’ve decided to raise money for this charity after someone in my family passed away suddenly from cancer this year. I’m sure we all know someone who has been affected by cancer and we all know how horrible of a disease it is.
“Even though this year there wasn’t as much money raised as other years, the charity continued to support people throughout the pandemic.
“You never know when you might need a charity like this. All money raised will go directly to the Irish Cancer Society.”
