Further increase in confirmed Covid cases at Mayo University Hospital

Six confirmed Covid cases are in care today at Mayo University Hospital (MUH).

That's an increase of one confirmed case in the past 24 hours.

The figures have been revealed in the HSE's latest report, compiled at 8 p.m. yesterday.

The ICU at the Castlebar facility remains virus-free.

There are 13 vacant general beds at MUH, down by four, and no vacant critical care beds.

Nationally, 22 patients are in critical care, a drop of three.

Christmas Day sees 256 confirmed cases in Irish hospitals, an increase of three in 24 hours, and 70 suspected cases, down by 41.
