New €1.5m. Crossmolina Fire Station is going to construction

News that the new Crossmolina Fire Station is going to construction next year has been welcomed by a local elected representative.

Councillor Michael Loftus praised the input of Deputy Dara Calleary in getting the project over the line.

He also acknowledged the the work of John Condon, director of services, Mayo County Council, Kevin Keegan, architect, and all the council staff who helped design and plan the Fire Station.

"It is a testament of the hard-working men in the fire service in our town that the government is investing a €1.5 million on a new new station into our town.

"Our next target is our proposed Flood Relief Scheme and we should have news in the near future," added Councillor Loftus.

Earlier today, Deputy Calleary confirmed that Minister Darragh O'Brien had given the go-ahead for construction work to begin.

"This is long overdue and will make a big difference to a very dedicated fire service unit in the town," said Deputy Calleary.
